Neon 10

Neon 10 History

How it started

It was in early May when Dan, Emily, and Beanz were all practicing during their lunch/resources at school when the idea of making a band emerged. Neon 10 originally was just an idea brought up between the three of them  to be a fun summer idea. Come next day, there were four members, an idea of what song covers to play, and one rockin' name.
Three of them play in the same orchestra at school, Daniel playing the violin and Emily and Beanz playing the viola, and all were musically savvy by knowing how to play many different instruments except Conor who doesn't play any instruments. Thus, he is the vocalist. He has however, taken many years of choir, participated in many events for singing, and takes voice lessons. Basically, he rocks.
Although Emily, Beanz, and Dan had met in Freshman year of highschool, Dan had known Conor since the third grade. When the opportunity to start a band suddenly presented itself, Dan knew that he could not leave Conor out of the picture.
In June, 2008, Conor decided to leave the band, unable to make it to enough of the practices.  Though Neon 10 was sad, it trudged on.
In July, 2008, Bobby was happily welcomed into the band, to usher in a new age of prosperity.
When the summer of 2008 ended, the school year brought a shiny oppertunity for Neon 10 to take flight for the first time ever; their first show. At Downers Grove South High School (aka the school of all N10 members) was having their annual Homecoming Variety Show and Neon 10 auditioned. To their excitment, they made the show and it was an epic first public showing for Neon 10's ability. Through the preparation of the show, there were mandatory rehearsals to check sound and stuff. While Neon 10 was warming up in the band room after school one day, there was a small crowd of people listening. One of the people being Doug Masek, a drummer for the school jazz band and on the drumline for the marching band. Doug must have found some great potential in the band because he asked if we had a drummer (at the time, we didn't) and then asked if he could drum with us. We agreed and sounded awesome-er! At the time, we thought that we would have Doug just for the performance, not knowing whether or not he would join the band.
On the final performance, Doug agreed to joining Neon 10's crew and we couldn't be any more thrilled.
